We begin with a brief consultation to assess your teeth and identify your whitening goals. A cheek retractor is carefully placed to hold your lips and cheeks away from your teeth. A protective barrier is also applied to safeguard your gums.
A careful and consistent application of 35% hydrogen peroxide whitening gel is thoroughly applied to the surface of your teeth. This high-quality gel is designed to effectively lift stains while protecting your enamel.
An LED light is positioned to activate the whitening gel, enhancing the chemical reaction that lifts discoloration from the tooth enamel. Each cycle lasts about 20 minutes.
Up to three cycles can be completed in a single visit, depending on your desired results and tooth sensitivity.
After the final cycle, the gel is removed, and your mouth is rinsed. You’ll see an instant improvement in brightness, often several shades whiter.

We use Pure Image 35% hydrogen peroxide whitening gel, activated by LED light technology. This professional-grade system typically delivers 4 to 8 shades of improvement in a single session for clients with predominantly surface staining.
Surface staining from coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco responds very well. Age-related yellowing also responds. Discolouration from tetracycline antibiotics, dental restorations (crowns, veneers, bonding), or fluorosis does not respond to peroxide whitening.
Peroxide whitening does not affect the colour of dental restorations. Any visible crowns, veneers, or composite bonding will not whiten alongside your natural teeth. Please disclose any dental restorations before your appointment.
If you have existing tooth sensitivity, use a sensitivity toothpaste for a week before. Arrive with clean teeth. Do not have whitening strips or treatments in the 48 hours before. Address active cavities or gum disease with your dentist before booking.
Temporary sensitivity is common and usually resolves within 24 to 48 hours. Avoid very hot or cold food and drink for the first 24 to 48 hours after treatment.
For the first 48 hours avoid coffee, tea, red wine, berries, soy sauce, and tobacco the enamel pores are temporarily more open during this window. After 48 hours, rinse with water after consuming staining foods and use a whitening maintenance toothpaste.
